In a long life I have fished in Norway, walked in Sicily and Transylvania, basked on African, Cote d’Azur and South American beaches, cruised the Med, done road trips through the Arizonian desert, gone ballooning in Turkey, sailed to the Antarctic and toured Scottish Castles in a posh train—and a lot more besides. But even if I stuck to my own county, never mind country, it would take me months to see all the things worth seeing in Oxfordshire.
